House Removal: Bray to Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow

Today I had a house removals job in Wicklow that also involved some furniture removal work in Dublin. The task was to collect 12 heavy wooden classic Georgian doors from Wilson’s Auctions off the Naas Road in Dublin, then to go on to Bray, Co. Wicklow, where we collected another 5 doors and some beds and furniture. The van was filled to capacity.

From there we drove the furntiture to Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow, which is not far from Gorey. The house was actually just a few kilometres from Clonegal, so within walking distance of this nice little country town in south Co. Wicklow.

The house that the furntiture was being delivered to was a potentially fantastic house in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow. It was fixey-uppey project bought for a song… for what was included: an 8 bedroom house with a mews out the back that was like a residence in itself, and it even had a hen-house, as well as large gardens. All of the bedrooms even had ensuites.

Loading up the furniture in Bray took a lot longer than unloading it in Shillelagh, which was nice… as was the fact that the journey home seemed a lot faster than the journey down. This is often the way it seems, though in this case it actually was faster because on the weay down I had to take it easy with a fully loaded van. The van is quite a bit more nippy when it’s empty.
